Frequently Asked Questions

*Do you worship Satan?
No. It is the position of Satanic Kentucky and The Satanic Temple that religion can, and should, be divorced from superstition.  As such, we do not promote the belief in a personal Satan.  To embrace the name of Satan is to embrace rational inquiry removed from supernaturalism and archaic traditional-based superstitions. The Satanist should actively work to hone critical thinking and exercise reasonable agnosticism in all things.  Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world, never the reverse.

*Do you promote evil?
We hold to the basic principle that undue suffering is bad, and that which reduces suffering is “good.”  We do not believe in symbolic “evil.” Blasphemy is embraced as a legitimate expression of one’s personal independence from counter-productive traditional norms.

*What do you believe in?
We believe in the pursuit of knowledge, truth, justice, and the freedom of Will.  We also believe in our Seven Tenets (insert link into Seven Tenets)

*Aren’t you just an activist or political organization?
No. Satanic Kentucky and The Satanic Temple are religious organizations. While many view activism and political participation as expressions of their Satanic beliefs within our community, our primary function is to create a safe and welcoming community for Satanists to practice and enjoy discourse amongst likeminded individuals.

*How can I visit the Temple or attend meetings?
While The Satanic Temple does have a physical location in Salem, MA, Satanic Kentucky has no such location.  Satanic Kentucky hosts private meetings in various locations across the state, as well as socials that are open to the public.  To learn more, please feel free to reach out to us via email or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
